Why we need you

Understanding Society is the biggest study of its kind in the world - and we'd very much like you and the people you live with to be involved. By spending just a short time answering questions about your experiences and opinions, you will help us paint a unique picture of life in the UK. As the study is interested in how people's lives change - or stay the same - we would like to come back and interview you again next year.

You can learn a lot more about taking part in the survey on the Understanding Society participants' website.

You and the people you live with were chosen from a scientifically selected sample of addresses. Addresses are selected so that the households and people taking part in Understanding Society accurately represent the UK's diverse population. This means that no one else can take your place in the survey. Participation in the study is completely voluntary and we hope you will be able to help us make the study a success.

This survey will give us an exciting and improved understanding of the world around us and help people make better decisions about how to improve everyone's lives.
