Jess Bailey

Jess Bailey

Senior Data Manager

Longitudinal Surveys

Jess Bailey is a Senior Data Manager at NatCen Social Research. Having joined us in 2011 Jess has predominantly worked on the UK's largest longitudinal household survey, Understanding Society. She has extensive experience in checking, cleaning and enhancing longitudinal data, ensuring that data is delivered on a continual basis to our high standards. Jess also provides support across a range of ad hoc projects and more recently has developed her knowledge in survey process data and data linkage techniques. She is particularily interested in administrative data linkage and it’s importance in improving public policy.

Prior to working at NatCen, Jess worked as a research assistant at the Resolution Foundation developing the organisation's statistical resources. She conducted economic analysis and reported on the living standards of people on a low income alongside her role supporting the research team with data from longitudinal surveys (FRS, FES, SEH). Jess also worked in the Research and Evaluation team at charity The Place2Be. She was responsible for managing clinical data, conducting analysis and writing evaluation reports. Jess has ESRC-accredited research training from The Cathie Marsh Centre for Census and Survey Research.
