Rodrigo Torres is Research Director for the Evaluation team at Natcen’s Policy Research Centre. In his current role he leads the design and implementation of policy impact evaluations for public and third-sector organisations in the UK. He has expertise in the use of experimental and quasi-experimental methods for policy evaluation. Rodrigo is currently working on several projects for the Education Endowment Foundation, the UK Department for Education, and the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
Rodrigo has wide experience in educational research. Before his current position he was a Research Fellow at the OECD Directorate for Education and Skills, and a Research Associate at the Centre for Longitudinal Studies at UCL, where his research focused on several topics in education policy. Previously, he worked at the Ministry of Education in Chile as an Advisor at the Ministerial Cabinet, and as a Research Coordinator for the Chilean National Council for Education.
Rodrigo has participated in research projects at the University of Cambridge, the UNESCO Institute for Statistics, and UCL among other organisations. He is an Associate Member of REAL Centre at the Faculty of Education, University of Cambridge, and an Honorary Research Associate at the Department of Social Science at UCL. He holds a BSc in Civil Industrial Engineering from the Catholic University of Chile and a PhD in Economics of Education from UCL.
