Rupal joined NatCen in February 2017 as a Senior Researcher in the Health Policy Research team.
She works on a range of research projects and evaluations of interventions aimed at improving health and well-being outcomes.
Previously, Rupal worked for the NHS (Leicester Diabetes Centre), managing randomised controlled trials and for the East Midlands Centre for BME health where she worked on implementation research.
She has an interest in evaluating service provision, health inequalities among ethnic minorities, engaging ‘hard to reach’ communities and long-term conditions.
Her doctoral research undertaken at the University of Nottingham explored understandings and management of mental health among the Gujarati communities in Leicester.
Rupal has experience of using a wide range of methods including: interviews, focus groups, surveys, participant observations, RCT’s and evaluation which span over the qualitative and quantitative spectrum.
