Senior Researcher

Salary: £30k - £42k (Depending on skills & experience)

We are looking to recruit an exceptional research professional to join the Household Surveys team in our Survey Research Centre as a Senior Researcher. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a thriving team undertaking some of Britain’s best known social surveys.

You will need to be an experienced quantitative survey researcher, passionate about social research, with an interest in survey design and methodology. We’re looking for people who are flexible, good communicators and work well as part of a team.

As a Senior Researcher you will take a lead role in the day-to-day management of surveys. You will need to liaise effectively and professionally with clients and external collaborators, as well as with NatCen staff. You will be involved in planning work and supervising more junior staff. You must have quantitative research skills and experience in conducting market or social research surveys and handling the resulting data.

This role involves working on NatCen’s British Social Attitudes (BSA) Survey. It will be an advantage if you are interested and experienced in conducting attitudinal research.

You will be enthusiastic about business generation at NatCen, able to identify new business opportunities and contribute to, and lead on aspects of, writing tenders and grant applications.

You will also be keen to contribute to wider NatCen organisational priorities, for example by promoting NatCen’s work externally, developing methodological and/or policy expertise, and playing an active role in NatCen-wide initiatives.
