50th Anniversary Drinks Reception
To celebrate our 50th anniversary as an organisation, we will be hosting a high-level stakeholder reception, kindly sponsored by Lord David Lipsey, in the House of Lords.
This important calendar event will be an opportunity to reflect on our contributions to social science research and to thank many of our colleagues, partners and customers for their dedication and support over the years. Through our informed and impassioned line-up of speakers guests will hear how high-quality social research can make a meaningful difference to UK society in the future, in a world characterised by declining trust and multiplying sources of evidence.
Speakers on the day will include:
- Guy Goodwin, Chief Executive, National Centre for Social Research (NatCen) & Scottish Centre for Social Research (ScotCen)
- Professor Jennifer Rubin, Executive Chair, Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC)
- Matthew Taylor, Chief Executive, Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA)
Also expected to attend the event will be parliamentarians, policy makers and interested parties from the social research community.
Half a century ago our co-founders (Roger Jowell and Gerald Hoinville) had a vision for an independent organisation to design, deliver and analyse in-depth studies within the field of social and public policy. Today, that vision has become a reality and our work and influence are widespread, relating to all aspects of public life. We look forward to hosting guests not only as we celebrate many successes but as we look forward with fresh impetus to make people’s lives better.
This event is by invitation only. To find out more about NatCen’s event programme you can contact Derry Begho at firstname.lastname@example.org.
