Each year the survey has a different focus. In the past we have focused on:

• the health of children, young people, and infants and mothers (1997 and 2002)
• asthma, accidents, and disability (1995 and 1996)
• cardiovascular disease (1993, 1994, 1998, 2003, and 2006)
• the health of older people (2000 and 2005)
• the health of minority ethnic groups (1999 and 2004)

The survey reports are published a year after the survey was carried out.
