Gillian Prior to lead on Surveys, Data and Analysis at NatCen

The National Centre for Social Research (NatCen) has appointed Gillian Prior as Director of Surveys, Data and Analysis
NatCen has today announced that Gillian Prior will join its Leadership Team from 1 July 2018 as its Director of Surveys, Data and Analysis. The new post includes oversight of the organisation’s Survey Research Centre.
Gillian is currently Head of Health and Bio-Medical Surveys at NatCen. She has over 20 years’ experience of leading, managing and delivering social surveys, including national studies such as Understanding Society, the Health Survey for England and the National Diet and Nutrition Survey.
Commenting on her appointment, Guy Goodwin, Chief Executive at NatCen, said, “I am excited about NatCen’s future. We already conduct many of Britain’s biggest and best quantitative surveys. I’m confident that Gillian will both enhance our reputation and diversify our portfolio to include a wider range of data sources."
Gillian said, “I’ve spent my career striving for excellence in social surveys, so I am delighted to be taking up this important role at Britain’s leading centre for social research. NatCen has a world class reputation for high quality surveys. In my new role I will be aiming to enhance this, to champion the value of surveys and to make greater use of new data sources.”
