Free resource for teachers
We've developed a fantastic free resource for teachers to use with sociology students and other secondary school pupils, the What Britain Thinks Quiz.
Based on data from our well known British Social Attitudes survey, you can use the quiz to test your students' knowledge of British attitudes to things like politics, unemployment and relationships.
Teachers who have tested the quiz say they really like that
- its design is engaging and instructions are clearly worded
- it asks interesting questions that will get pupils thinking
- it encourages healthy competition by using multiple choice questions and allowing pupils to compare results.
The quiz also comes with some ideas from teachers of how you could use the quiz in your lessons.
This is just a small thank you to everyone who has taken part in our schools research or who is interested in and supports our research.
The quiz works on PCs, tablets and mobiles and looks its best on up to date browsers like Chrome and Safari.
NatCen is an educational charity, and we're committed to helping people find out why social research is important and what it has to offer society.
We hope you and your students enjoy the quiz. Please let us know how you get on, we'd love to hear your feedback.
In addition to the original quiz, we have developed an Election-themed quiz called Election 2015: What Britain Thinks Quiz. The quiz tests students on what the public really think about the big issues facing the nation, including the NHS, Europe, education and welfare.
