Evaluation of the Manor Park Talks Pilot

Early Years Language Lesson
Published: January 2020

We are carrying out an evaluation of the Manor Park Talks Pilot, a professional development programme to help early years settings support children’s language development.

Aims

The Manor Park Talks Pilot is a professional development programme for the early years workforce in a small number of nurseries in Manor Park, in the London Borough of Newham, aimed at supporting children’s language development.

This intervention is funded by the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) and coordinated by Sheringham Nursery School and Children’s Centre, Manor Park.

NatCen Social Research has been appointed by EEF to carry out an independent evaluation of the Manor Park Talks Pilot and its delivery in nurseries. The evaluation will aim to assess:

  • Evidence of Promise
  • Feasibility
  • Readiness for scaling up across Newham.
