Our funders are the Joseph Rowntree Foundation and this study is part of a UK-wide research and development programme 'Risk, trust and relationships in an ageing society'.
We worked with Simon Anderson Consulting, the School of Social and Political Science at the University of Edinburgh, with support from Assist Social Capital.
The study was conducted across three sites in Glasgow: Bearsden, Hillhead and Maryhill.
We conducted interviews with people who recieved and gave support and spoke to organisations that gave support, like church groups or befriending schemes.
Participants were asked to complete a two week log of the support they gave and recieved.
