
Ashley is a Researcher in the Society and Social Change team. Ashley joined NatCen in 2009 as a Research Assistant. Since joining the team Ashley has worked on range of projects across policy areas. This has included working on a study examining Gender Equality and Equal Opportunities within the European Social Fund. This involved in-depth interviews with Contract Managers, Operational Provider Project Staff and Learners. The research team also undertook a review of provider organisation's equality policies. Currently Ashley is working on a study exploring experiences of bullying, discrimination and harassment within the workplace. This involves in-depth interviews with professionals who have been bullied, discriminated against or harassed. Ashley is also working on an evaluation of the youth volunteering body v. Ashley is leading the qualitative case study element of the evaluation which comprises in-depth interviews and focus groups with operational staff and young volunteers. Ashley is also involved in the discourse analysis element of the evaluation. This strand of the evaluation explores media and political discourse on youth volunteering within national newspapers across three key timeframes.
