
Director of Innovation and Development
Carli Lessof is a member of NatCen's Senior Management Team and our Director of Innovation and Development. She contributes to a wide ranging programme of work including:
developing NatCen's new business areas and strategic partnerships in collaboration with William O'Connor, our Director of Research
leading the development of new products and research approaches, supported by Mel Taylor, our Innovation and Development Manager
developing and implementing a comprehensive Technology Strategy, working alongside Steven Finch, our Director of Performance and Operations.
Carli joined NatCen in 1998, specialising for many years in complex evaluations of government policy. From 2003, she developed a programme of work in longitudinal research, drawing together landmark studies such as the English Longitudinal Study of Ageing, the Millennium Cohort Study, the 1970 Birth Cohort Study, the 1958 National Child Development Study and Understanding Society. This helped NatCen develop its strong expertise in longitudinal survey development and delivery as well as longitudinal data management, methodology and analysis.
Before joining NatCen, Carli worked at the London School of Economics, the Department of Work and Pensions and the National Audit Office.
