Clarissa White
Researcher

Clarissa White, a Research Director in the Children and Young People Team, has over 20 years experience in social policy research. Much of this work has concentrated on research and evaluation of government policy for children, young people and their families.  She leads on families' policy within NatCen Social Research. She is a qualitative research and evaluation specialist and has written and taught about qualitative research methods and more specifically research with children and young people.  Current and recent mixed method evaluation contracts she has directed include: the evaluation of the Free School Meals Pilot, the evaluation of Family Intervention Projects, the evaluation of the Intensive Intervention Projects for young people and the evaluation of the Graduate Leader Fund  - all for DfE. Between 2008 and 2010 Clarissa spent just over two years at the Department for Education managing the Families Research and Analysis Team and working closely with the Families Policy Group. Between 2002 and 2005 she worked as a Director and Senior Associate Director at TNS-BMRB. Clarissa spent her early career in television as a researcher on a range of current affairs programmes.
