As Head of Children and Young People Research at NatCen Social Research, Jane leads a team looking at a range of issues concerning young people and children. These include large scale evaluations of policies that affect families and children, for example Family Intervention Programmes, Children's Centres in England, the 16-18 Bursary Fund and Free School Meals. Other projects carried out by team include a study looking at how young migrants adapt to living in the UK, the effects of raising the participation age and single parents' views on proposed changes to the child maintenance system.
Jane has a wide range of research expertise and has managed many research projects in different contexts. Jane joins NatCen Social Research in 2012 from the National Academy of Parenting Research. Previously she was Head of Research at Which?/Consumers' Association. She has a PhD in Law and a BA (Hons)in Economics and Social Studies.
