
Former Government Chief Social Scientist and Chief Scientific
Adviser to the Home Office. Prior to joining the Home Office he was
Professor of Criminology at the University of Sheffield, and
formerly Dean of the Faculty of law, and Director of the Centre for
Criminology and socio-Legal Studies. He previously worked at the
University of Cambridge, and the London School of Economics and
Political Science. He has also worked as a consultant with major
consultancy companies. Paul brings considerable knowledge and
experience of social statistics, social policy and Government
research commissioning.
