Visit www.gov.uk/benefit-cap or call the DWP helpline, on 0345 605 7064 (telephone) or 0345 608 8551 (Textphone). The opening hours are 8am to 6pm.

Housing benefit or housing arrangements questions

Contact your Local Authority by visiting www.gov.uk/find-your-local-council, or look in your local phone book. They may be able to give you a Discretionary Housing Payment, which is money to help you to pay your rent or help you find somewhere cheaper to live.

If you need help managing your money visit  www.moneyadviceservice.org.uk. They offer free independent advice about how to make the best of your money, including budgeting, savings and dealing with debt.
