Frequently Asked Questions
What is the research about?
This project will look at the motivations of early years staff for entering, moving through and leaving the early years sector.
Read more about our research questions and aims of the project here.
Why take part?
By taking part you will provide new insight into the early years sector. This insight will be used to provide policy-makers with evidence-based recommendations, which we hope will improve the quality of early years provision. Ultimately, this has the potential to narrow the socio-economic gap as children’s educational outcomes are improved.
Who is conducting this research?
The National Centre for Social Research (NatCen) are carrying out this research through funding provided by the Nuffield Foundation. This research is part of a larger study being carried out in partnership with the Education Policy Institute.
What does taking part involve?
Taking part would involve taking part in an interview with a NatCen researcher about your experiences in the early years profession, and you would receive a generous book voucher as a thank you for your time. Find out more about the interviews here.
How will my information be used?
Your information will be used to produce a report. We will not identify any setting or individual in the report. You can find out more about how your data will be processed in our privacy notice here.
