Findings from a study designed to explore what matters to ‘Comfortable Leavers’ about the UK leaving the EU, as well as their priorities for their communities, and the UK more widely.
The UK faces a range of environmental challenges that require action to ensure the Government’s aims, set out in the 25 Year Environment Plan, are met. This study aims to improve Defra’s understanding of people’s values and priorities for the environment and will generate options for taking these into account in environmental policymaking.
As part of a wider mixed-method project exploring public views on a future transition to low-carbon heating, this study aimed to use deliberative workshops to gather in-depth evidence on public attitudes and perceptions to a heat transition.
One key feature of British politics during and since the EU referendum has been a polarisation of opinions on what the future of the UK should look like. This project answers the need for public debate on the options and trade-offs facing policymakers with respect to post-Brexit policy.
