Information for secondary schools, APIs and special schools

How can my school sign up for the Nature Friendly Schools evaluation?

The Education Officer will explain the Nature Friendly Schools programme and evaluation. If you wish to be involved, you will sign a Memorandum of Understanding, indicating that your school is willing to participate in the programme and the evaluation. You will nominate a member of staff as the NFS School Lead to lead the programme and facilitate the evaluation in your school.

What will the evaluation involve?

A NatCen researcher will arrange:

  • An observation of an NFS outdoor learning activity;
  • A focus group with 5-7 pupils;
  • Two interviews with the NFS School Lead.

Additionally, staff participating the programme will be invited to complete a short online survey.

How will you deal with personal information about pupils and staff?

We will treat information collected about pupils and staff in the strictest confidence under the EU General Data Protection Regulation 2018 and GDPR. You can find out more about our credentials and who we are here and how we protect your personal information here.

Where can I find out more?
